Kazuki Yamada, laureate of the Grand Prix 2009

In 2009, there were 247 candidates from 45 nationalities registered for the preliminary rounds that took place in Besançon, Montréal, Berlin, Beijing and Tokyo. 20 candidates, including 5 women, from 13 nationalities were selected for the final rounds in Besançon.

 

After the final rounds in september, the jury members chose Kazuki Yamada (Japan, 30) as laureate of the Grand Prix de direction of the 51st International Competition for Young Conductors. He also won the audience’s prize.
